- Brucellosis (Undulant fever)
- SYMPTOMS may include sudden chills, fever, diarrhea, severe headache, mild
- malaise, back and muscular pain. Temperature rises in the evening and fall
- to near-normal in the morning with profuse sweating. Fever may persist for
- 1 to 5 weeks then disappear. It may return repeatedly.
- CAUSES are an infection that is transmitted to humans from cattle, goats and
- pigs via infected milk or the carcass.
- TREATMENT. Antibiotics and other medication may be required.
